You can set up lots of things in Skedus: pick out how the site will be displayed, how the game will be ruled and what the grid will look like. There are thousands of different combinations!
Don't hesitate to click here and there until you find a style that meets you. If you create an account, this style will be remembered and you will get it back the next time you log in.
website theme
You can set here the background, the colors and the main font of the website. The theme of the website is unset if you choose the geek mode.
mode
You can set here how the website (blocks, menus, buttons...) is displayed. The same theme may thus be shown in very different ways. * Bubbly is default. It rounds off the edges, and smoothes the look. * Classic is by far more reasonable : everything is well arranged in its right place. * Geek looks like a BIOS menu (though it is not reserved for IT people). Theme of the website and theme of the grid are unset. * Opacity generates a certain lack of translucency, but buttons may still be seen. * Staggered dissymmetrizes buttons. * Wobbly makes all of them more or less shaky. Don't pick this mode if you are prone to seasickness!
font
You can set here the font of the text if you want to make it more fun. True that reading could then take more time, but perhaps some texts shouldn't be read so fast.
background
This stands for the background color of the game and of the texts. If texts can hardly be read in the readpage, the reversedoption should be enough to make it right. This option is (partially) available only for the read page if you choose the geek mode.
number of jokers
If you are wrong, jokers allow you to give another answer to the question. If you choose : * the unlimited option, you will have as many jokers as you need. * the limited option, you will get a joker for 10 questions. * the rechargeable option, you will get a joker more than in the previous option each time you are right ten questions in a row. * the roulette option, you will have one in two chance of getting a joker. In all cases, the jokers used will be counted to you at the end of the game, and their weight is great in the score if you have chosen to record your performances. * If you choose the no joker option, you will not be allowed to be wrong. Changing this option will restart the game if any.
stopwatch
If you choose the set option, you will be timed. If you choose the unset option, you won’t. Be careful in this case, for the game may be recorded, but the score may not be calculated. Changing this option will restart the game if any.
mystery
If mystery is set, one of the three answers will be hidden. If you think that the other two are wrong, then click... and see if you are right ! Changing this option will restart the game if any.
path
Path sets how you will run from one answer to another until you find the right one: * random can put the answers everywhere in the grid. * bundled puts the answers side by side on the same row. * unbundled puts the answers randomly on the same row. Changing this option will restart the game if any.
icon theme
This stands for the icon theme. Grid theme is unset if you choose the geek mode or the no theme display of the grid.
icon display
You can choose here how icons are displayed on the grid. The same theme may thus be shown in very different ways. * Dark displays only black icons. * Bordered unsets the grid theme and displays only bordered void icons. * Multiple is default, and displays as many different icons as necessary to fill out the grid. * Colored options unset the grid theme and displays only colored icons. * Radial options are like the colored options, but with smooth transitions that give a raised effect. * Transparent displays... nothing. * Random displays icons of the previous options, randomly. * Unique displays the same icon throughout the grid until you give the right answer. Multiple may be more fun, but no theme is a little bit faster and unique can help you know quickly if you are right or not. The geek mode has its own display of the grid.
grid size
Automatic is default and fits the sense and size of the grid to your screen. Manual lets you choose it yourself.
